Classroom Experience
Kickstart your journey by observing dynamic classroom environments early in the program. As you advance, step into the action with hands-on teaching experiences, guided by mentorship from local educators who are passionate about shaping the next generation.

Get Certified
Upon completion of the program and passing all TExES exams, you’ll be certified to teach Early Childhood-3rd grade in Texas.

Earn a Scholarship
This scholarship offers aspiring teachers up to $10,000 annually, professional development opportunities, and a robust statewide network to support your journey into the classroom.

You will have the opportunity to gain experience in several key areas.
Developmentally Appropriate Practices
Plan developmentally appropriate practices that synthesize knowledge of standards and child development to create engaging and supportive learning experiences.
Learning Environment Design
With hands-on experience in actual classrooms, you’ll design learning environments by incorporating developmentally appropriate practices that promote optimal outcomes across the learning domains.
Data-Driven Instruction
Analyze assessment data to inform instructional decisions by reflecting and collaborating across the child’s support system.

Course Delivery and Resources
The majority of your coursework will be offered in a face-to-face setting to cultivate effective classroom management skills. Our in-person courses are held at our main campus in Commerce and our extended university sites at Dallas, Collin Higher Education Center (CHEC), Mesquite and Navarro in Corsicana. Courses are available during the fall, spring and summer terms.
